Choose and Use the Right Autoresponder

Your emails can get stopped. Why?
Let’s get back to the fundamental of each functionalities and capabilities of each autoresponder.
1. The software based autoresponder.
Definition: The first kind is software based. You installed this piece of software on your computer like an Microsoft Office. Usually a one-time fee.
Disadvantge: Limited usage and not flexible. If you left it at home, you will not be able to contact your list. I DON’T recommend you use this.
2. A Third-party autoresponder
Definition: The second kind is a third-party autoresponder where you subscribe to an special servicer provider providing this services. You log in your username and password to manage and email your list. You share your the system with others. You normally pay a monthly fee on this. Good for people who are not technical savvy. They do all the setup for you. You just subscribe and you. Used by lots of people.
Disadvantge: A lot of people recommend this kind, you know why? First, it can be their shallow knowledge, they are not aware of the danger. Second, is because of monetary incentive. They get residual (ongoing monthly) money they get from the company.
I will tell you fews other problem. Let me share this with you. I have gone through it and I have been in that shoes. I know it. Remember you are hosting your list on their server so they can and will charge you a outrageous amount of money when your list grows. There is also one biggest problem you might face…your message does not land on your subscriber’s mail box.
What the reason?
Well, let’s say, John Doe and you were using this service. John is building his list using the wrong way and spamming people. John is so desperate but unfortunately his wrong doing is getting you into trouble too. The Internet Service Providers (ISP) received complaint on spam by this John’s email which carries an common IP address. Hence, the ISP shut down that IP address of the servers which is shared by John and you. Because of this, you are affected too. Your email got blocked by the ISP.
In other words, even if you build you list correctly, you won’t be able to get your emails through because John just has screwed it up for himself as well as for you.
3. The third kind is a server-based.
Definition: The third kind is a server-based. It’s installed on your own web site or web server. It’s not a service that runs on someone else’s servers, so there are no monthly fees. You just pay once to purchase the software and it’s yours. No monthly recurring cost.
Advantage: A server-based Autoresponder. It’s installed on your own web site or web server. You don’t share the service with anyone else except yourself. There will be no monthly recurring charges. When you build your list correctly, you should not face any problem. Your IP will not get blocked. Hence, you will get into trouble.
However, if you get stopped, it’s your fault, not anyone else can be blamed on this..
So the one that I recommend is the third kind.
